The SpeakON device records independently — even when your phone isn't nearby or the device isn't connected via Bluetooth. Recordings are saved on the device and sync to the app automatically when you reconnect.

How offline recording works

1. Press and hold the Record button on the device. The green light stays solid while recording.
2. Release to stop. The recording is saved locally on the device.
3. The next time you open the SpeakON app and the device connects via Bluetooth, recordings sync automatically in order from oldest to newest.

Things to know

· Each recording session is up to 5 minutes. Press again to start a new session.

· If no input field is focused when the device reconnects to your phone, offline recordings are transcribed to your Notes list in the app.

· Sync requires Bluetooth. Keep the device within 1 metre of your phone during transfer.

· Recordings sync in order from oldest to newest. Keep the app open in the foreground for large batches.

Storage full

If the red light stays solid when you press Record, the device storage is full. Open the SpeakON app and connect the device to sync and clear existing recordings before recording again.
