SpeakON New Features GuideUpdated 3 minutes ago
Learn how to use SpeakON’s new features, check results, and manage the connections they need.
Update SpeakON to the latest version before you begin.
Use SpeakON Agent
Agent turns a spoken request into a task. Use it to find information, prepare a message, create a reminder or calendar event, or save new content in a connected app.
Try “Remind me tomorrow at 9 a.m. to send the proposal.” You can also combine steps: “Find Jordan Lee’s email about the launch, draft a reply, and remind me tomorrow to follow up.”
Start a task
Open Notes in SpeakON or press the button on your SpeakON device and record your request. Include the person, topic, destination, date, or time it needs.
Open the task created from your request.
Follow any prompts to connect an app, allow access, or add missing details.
Check each step’s result. If approval is requested, review the details before confirming.
For people, use a name instead of an unclear description such as “my customer.” For a file search, use the topic or keywords you remember. For a new page or note, say where to save it.
Connect the app your task needs
Agent supports Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, and Evernote, plus iPhone contact, calendar, and reminder actions. Available actions differ by app.
Follow the connection prompt and review the requested permissions. Agent can use content available through your connected account and approved access. Evernote requires an account with MCP access.
For Slack setup, see Connect and use Slack with SpeakON.
Review or correct a pending action
Agent asks you to review emails, Slack messages, new contacts, and new files or notes before sending or saving them. Check the recipient or destination and the content. A straightforward reminder or calendar event may be created without a separate approval step.
While a task is waiting for input or approval, use your voice or the keyboard to correct details, then review again. You can cancel a pending step. For a location-related task, keep SpeakON in the foreground while it gets your location.
Check what happened
Open the task and check each step. A task can show Completed when some steps succeeded and others were canceled. A canceled email step does not mean an email was sent.
Canceling does not undo an action that already happened. Editing the original Note does not change or restart an existing task. Correct pending actions through the task’s input or approval prompt.
Supported actions and limits
Notion and Evernote: find, read, and summarize accessible content; create a new Notion page or database entry, or a new Evernote note. Editing, appending to, moving, or deleting existing pages or notes is not supported in this version.
Apple Reminders: create reminders. Searching, editing, and deleting existing reminders is not supported.
Obsidian: copying Notes to a vault is a separate Notes sync feature. Agent cannot search or work inside the vault.
Maps: dictate a place name into a search field with SpeakON Keyboard. Agent cannot directly open a location in Maps from a spoken request in this version.
Record a request while offline
You can record a request on your SpeakON device while offline. Agent processes it after the recording transfers to the app, uploads, and is transcribed with an internet connection. Bluetooth reconnection alone does not mean the task has run. Open the task when it appears to check the result or respond to prompts.
Combine related Notes
If you capture one thought across several recordings, SpeakON can suggest combining the related Notes. You choose what to include and confirm before anything changes. Task Notes are excluded.
Before you combine
Combining cannot be undone in this version. The combined content is saved in the earliest selected Note. The other selected originals are deleted. Copy any Notes you want to keep separately before confirming.
Merged Notes are not synced to Notion, Evernote, or Obsidian.
Review and combine
Open Notes and look for the suggestion at the top of the list, below Weekly Summary if one is shown. Tap Review & combine.
If several groups are suggested, choose a group from Merge Suggestions.
Read the combined preview. Under From these notes, clear the checkbox for any Note you want to keep separate. Leave at least two Notes selected.
Check the selected Notes and preview, then tap Combine [N] notes.
The earliest selected Note now contains the original wording in time order, with a blank line between each Note. Find it in the Notes list using that Note’s original creation time. Unselected Notes stay separate.
Keep the Notes separate
Tap Not related to dismiss a suggestion without changing your Notes. You can also leave the review screen without confirming.
If a suggestion is missing or combining fails
Suggestions apply to newly created, related Notes recorded within five minutes of each other, with a group covering up to 20 minutes. A suggestion may take about five minutes after the last related capture to appear. It expires after 12 hours. Not every Note receives a suggestion.
If combining fails, your source Notes are kept. Stay on the review screen and retry. If you were offline, reconnect before checking the result.
Combine related notes is on by default. Turn it off in settings if you do not want suggestions.
Sync Notes to other apps
Copy your SpeakON Notes to Notion, Evernote, or Obsidian so they are available where you keep your work. Use Auto Sync for future Notes, or select existing Notes to send them yourself.
Sync runs one way, from SpeakON to the destination. Changes in the destination do not come back to SpeakON. Later edits and merged Notes are not synced.
Choose how to sync
Option | Use it for | What happens |
|---|---|---|
Auto Sync | New Notes from now on | Copies a Note when it is created after Auto Sync is enabled. |
Sync to | Selected existing Notes | Sends up to 200 Notes per batch to one app at a time. |
Sync Now | Notes awaiting a successful sync | Sends eligible Notes since this connection’s last successful sync. |
Connect a destination
Open the sync settings in SpeakON and choose a destination app. You can also open Notes > … > Select > Sync to, choose an unconnected app, and follow the connection prompt.
Each app has one saved destination. You can connect several apps, but cannot temporarily choose another location for an individual Note.
Notion
Choose Notion and sign in to the account you want to use.
Review and approve the requested access.
Choose the destination available to that account.
Evernote
Choose Evernote and connect an account with MCP access.
Review and approve the requested access.
Choose the notebook where your Notes should be saved.
MCP access is required for this connection. If your account does not offer it, check your Evernote account’s available integrations.
Obsidian
Notes are saved as Markdown (.md) files in a local vault folder.
Choose Obsidian, then open Sync Location.
In the system folder picker, open On My iPhone > Obsidian and select your vault folder.
Allow folder access and finish setup.
Automatically copy new Notes
Open the settings for the connected destination and check that a destination is selected.
Turn on Auto Sync.
Auto Sync is off by default and is set separately for each app. It applies when a new Note is created. It does not copy older Notes, later edits, or merged Notes.
Copy selected existing Notes
Open Notes > … > Select and choose up to 200 Notes.
Tap Sync to, then choose one destination app. Connect it first if prompted.
Check the selected Notes’ sync status. They go to that app’s saved destination.
To send the same selection to another app, repeat these steps and choose that app. Merged Notes are excluded.
Catch up with Sync Now
Open a connected destination’s settings and tap Sync Now. This sends eligible Notes that have not synced successfully since that connection’s last successful sync.
If the connection has never synced successfully, SpeakON asks “Sync all your notes?” Check the destination. Choose Sync to send existing Notes except merged Notes, or Dismiss to leave them unchanged. Use Sync to if you only want certain Notes.
Check a result or fix a problem
Check the status next to a Note in the Notes list. Open its details to see the result for each destination.
Pending: the Note is waiting to be processed. If you were offline, reconnect to the internet and reopen SpeakON.
Failed: open the details, address the reported cause, then retry that destination.
Older Note missing: use Sync to or Sync Now. Auto Sync only applies when a Note is created.
Obsidian not receiving Notes: keep SpeakON open on the device with the vault configured. If the folder moved or access was removed, select it again and allow access.
Connection or storage error: restore access to the saved destination, or free space in the location named in the error, then retry.
Stop syncing
Turn off Auto Sync to stop automatically copying new Notes. Disconnect the destination to stop future syncs through that connection. Copies already saved in the destination remain there.
Notes sync is separate from SpeakON Cloud Sync and from the Bluetooth transfer that brings device recordings into the app.
Use SpeakON Keyboard on iPad
SpeakON Keyboard is available on iPad, with a layout and controls adapted for the larger screen.
Update the SpeakON app on your iPad.
Open an app and tap a text field.
Switch to SpeakON Keyboard to dictate or type.
Enter a place name in Maps
Use SpeakON Keyboard to enter a location without typing the place name.
Open Maps and tap the search field.
Switch to SpeakON Keyboard and dictate the place name.
Check the text, then search.
This enters text into the search field. Agent cannot directly open a location in Maps from a spoken request in this version.
Understand Notes processing and Weekly Summary
While your Note is generating
A Note’s title and body may finish generating at different times. If either is still loading, allow processing to finish before checking it again.
Weekly Summary language
Weekly Summary uses the language used by most of the Notes included in that summary.
